Porsche Technician and wannabe Porsche Diagnostic Historian
Hi Everyone,

I have been a Porsche technician for the last 30 odd years, and unlike some from my early days I embrace technology, electronics and software.

I am in the lucky position to be able to spend a fair bit of my time these days reverse engineering software and electronics to broaden understanding of the undocumented.

I have have a passion for old obsolete Porsche diagnostic equipment, such as from my early days of using the Bosch Hammer, ABS2LED, KDAS from 30 years ago, through the Porsche System Tester 2 (PST2) from 20 years ago and the PIWIS-1 from 10 or 15 years ago, and even the PIWIS2 from about 5 to 10 years ago.

I am currently restoring an original grey PIWIS-1, as well as repairing a couple of KTS650's that the PIWIS-1 was based on.

I am thinking of putting together a central library of software, firmware and upgrades for these old machines, as well as putting together tutorials for fresh installs, conversions, upgrades and repairs to them.

If anyone has any of these machines, or the often Bosch kit they were based on getting dusty, I am always interested... But also at the moment I am especially keen on trying to get hold of images of all the various CDs/DVDs for install, upgrade, firmware and tools, to try to document and experiment with the various versions.

A few years ago, the forums were full of download links to the various CDs/DVDs, but sadly it seems that most of these links are dead, I should have downloaded and saved them years ago.

So if anyone has anything like this that they can share, I would be really appreciative.

I know that Porsche are not really interested in these obsolete machines, they are more interested in Policing the more recent kit, I think the old softwares are abandonware for them, so don't be shy in sharing them.

I will probably post a copy of this in a relevant section in here, once I have had a good poke around.
