Which ET Interface for Newer Heavy Equipment?
Need to connect to a 299D2 Cat Tier 4 skid-steer in Factory mode, as it is a rebuilt burnout.
There seem to be OEM interfaces for around $800, and Chinese knockoffs for around $450. All seem to be of different ages, and older ones may not be compatible with a newer machine.Any recommendations for a less expensive USB or wifi interface? Is it possible to update the software in the interface? What does it take to run in Factory mode?

Hmm 63 views and not a single response.
Looks like I'm on my own.

RE: Which ET Interface for Newer Heavy Equipment?
Had two chances to buy one yesterday, but some chickens*t running bid-sniping
software beat me out in the last 3 seconds on both of them. Fight like a man!

I ended up buying the latest ECM interface (478-0235) for $700. I'll
use it, then sell it since I won't need it anymore. I know it'll do the
job, and I'll see that money again.
